The Noble Home

"What is the goal? A house that is like the life that goes with it, a house that gives us beauty as we understand it - and beauty of a nobler kind that we may grow to understand." ~ Elsie de Wolfe

I am quite passionate about home design. My dream house is a cross between a cottage and the Bennet home in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice. I want a house lovely enough to hold the life I imagine for it. A house filled with strength and dignity and grace, love and laughter and music and books, open windows and flowers and food fresh from the garden.

“There is a house built out of stone, wooden floors, walls and window sills, tables and chairs worn by all of the dust. This is a place that I don’t feel alone. This is a place that I call my home. And I built a home for you, for me.” ~ ‘To Build a Home’ (Cinematic Orchestra feat. Patrick Watson)

My favourite kitchen of all time! I keep coming back to this for my dream house. The grey, the pop of yellow, the brick and stone, the copper, the countertops, the clapboard walls, the ceiling, the fireplace, the incredible windows, the layout…I’m in love! ♥ I would change the floors though, not being a big fan of the black and white diamond pattern. I found this kitchen on a custom kitchen designer’s website quite a long while ago, and through various computer changes managed to lose the link, so I’m sorry I’m not giving credit where credit is incredibly due.
